Or, how life in today's America affects one person (sorry, diarying to get it out!)
I have to go to my Dad's tomorrow. He lives 5 hours away. He's 74, and in the last 4 months his health has gone from being able to live on his own and take care of himself, to needing full time care.
I'm also the Mom of a 15 & a 17 year old, the 17y.o. is planning on going to college next year, so we're navigating the waters of college applications and how the hell are we going to pay for this.
I'm also a business owner, own three shops with about 20 employees. So far, I've been able to pay bills, but I'm still seeing a slide in my sales, we'll see how long before I have to dip into savings (which are there to cover prop taxes this year) just to meet payroll.
